ABOUT SLR TROJANS BASKETBALL (AAU)

San Luis Rey Trojans Basketball founded in 2009, is a competitive basketball club that was created to give kids an opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of the game, fostering teamwork, and exibiting good sportsmanship. Additionally, players will be testing their skills at a high level against competition from across Southern California and the United States.

Boys Grade & Age Requirements:

5th grade (11<) Must be born on or after Sept. 1 2000

6th grade (12<) Must be born on or after Sept. 1 1999

7th grade (13<) Must be born on or after Sept. 1 1998

8th grade (14<) Must be born on or after Sept. 1 1997

Coaches:

Coach Kerwin

- 10+ years coaching experience

- Played professionally in Caracas, Venezuela

- Starter for University of Maryland Terrapins

- Played for future HOF coach Gary Williams

- Selected as ACC Honorable Mention

- Earned full athletic scholarship to Old Dominion University Monarchs

Thank you for the interest in the SLR Trojans Basketball club. We look forward to tryouts starting on 2/17/2012. If your son is interested in joining the SLR Trojans Basketball Club, please make certain that he attends as the tryouts will assist the coaching staff determine how many players, teams and age groups we will be competing in this season.

Date: Friday the 17th

Time: 5:30-7:30 pm (please arrive by 5:15 pm).

Location: MLK Middle School, 1290 Ivey Ranch Road Oceanside, CA 92057

Cost:

SLR Trojans Baskteball is offering kids a place to learn about the game of basketball & teamwork while keeping the membership fees affordable. A fee of no more than $250 will include the gym rentals, uniforms, Friday night league play, referees & scorers. A nominal onetime AAU membership fee will also be required to play in AAU sanctioned events. The AAU Membership can be obtained on http://aauboysbasketball.org.
