Pete Carroll wows the crowd!!

USC head football coach Pete Carroll wowed the enthusiastic crowd at the 2007 SLR Trojans fund raising event with his upbeat message and youthful energy. Coach Pete discussed the importance of education and youth football and recounted his own experiences as both a youth football player and coach. The crowd was treated to an opportunity to participate in a Question & Answer segment with Coach Carroll and they were entertained by the "Spirit of Troy", the USC Marching Band ensemble and the USC Song Girls! The US Navy Color Guard from Camp Pendleton presented the colors and Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood and the Marine Corps MSOB unit each presented Coach Carroll with awards for his taking time to help our children.

Coach Pete stayed to sign

every autograph and to speak

with every attendee. The entire

event was a great success and

came off with class and pride.

Announcing appointment of Dan Armentrout as Regional Director of "Football University"!

The SLR Trojan family is honored to announce the appointment of President/Coach Dan Armentrout as the San Diego/Orange County Regional Director for Football University (FBU). FBU is the premier invitation only mini camp for accomplished football players from around the US. FBU conduct the US Army All American Bowl game which is seen on NBC during New Years weekend each year and showcases the top 84 High School Seniors from around the nation. The game has featured such names as Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Vince Young and a host of current College & NFL stars. Coach Armentrout will be task with selecting those area football players to participate in the FBU combines and mini camps where they will work with NFL alumni & FBU staff members (Lavone Kirkland, Andre Rison, Guy MacEntryre, Steve DeBerg, Rodney Hampton to name just a few) so to have the chance to become recruited by top college scouts and scouting agencies such as FBU partner Rivals.com. Additionally Coach Armentrout will be selecting those elite athletes to participate in the All American Bowl game in San Antonio, TX over New Years. The 2008 NFL draft featured 30 FBU former athlets who were selected in the draft. Far and away more than any such organization.
